Diabetes UK is an organisation devoted to the welfare and interests of people with diabetes. You are advised to join.
It provides:
Help and advice on aspects of diabetes care
A wide range of publications including useful information leaflets on all aspects of living with diabetes
A bi-monthly magazine 'Balance' which is sent free of charge to all members
Organises educational and activity holidays for children and young adults with diabetes
Supports research to find prevention or cure for diabetes and its complications and to improve treatment

There is a local branch of Diabetes UK which meets at Edwards Lane Diabetes Centre (tel: 0115 9627621). Membership is free. Meetings are held monthly and include talks by guest speakers.
